Brust Hall (Boys Dorm)
Brust Hall currently serves as the primary boy's residence hall at Saint Paul. Originally built to house the men of Saint Paul's College, it was first occupied in 1954. Our building was named for Pastor L. Frederick Brust who served St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia from 1901-1932.
This past summer, Brust has seen some significant changes. We have replaced the furniture in all the rooms with some residential hall furnishings we purchased from the University of Missouri. This new funiture is a major upgrade from the older items, which were about sixty years old.
The boys rooms were all repainted this past summer. Some of the boys have even noticed that there is more than one color scheme from room to room.
The grounds next to our residential hall received attention this summer as well. The old soccer and baseball fields behind Brust Hall were plowed up. Currently the fields are a bit muddy from the constant watering. The fields have been fertilized and seeded and grass is beginning to push through the ground. Soon we hope it will be transformed into a field of lush green grass that will be ready for student use this coming spring.
Change is good. We will find some good changes throughout the next year, as the boys entrusted to the care of our school, gradually transform into confident young men. We hope Brust Hall will always feel like home.

Life in Moeller
More than just a residential hall
Life at Moeller Hall is typically filled with a lot of excitement. It is the only girls residence hall at Saint Paul and is currently home to 62 young women from all over the world. Some parents may worry about sending their child to a boarding high school, but the experience they have at Saint Paul is second to none. They have the benefit of learning in a Christian environment, have faculty and staff who care about them and are around to help answer questions and they have the opportunity to live in the residence hall with students from all around the world.
Residential life can be very enjoyable having your best friend right next door, and a lounge with a television and DVD player and a ping-pong table. The hall also has study areas, a piano, an exercise room, a kitchen, and a laundry room. However, we also make sure the girls form good habits. Study hours are enforced on school nights, they have set bedtimes, curfews, and room checks are done during the school day to make sure they are keeping their rooms clean.
There are nine Student Assistants (SA's) in Moeller this yer. SA's are either junior or seniors who have been at Saint Paul for at least a year and go through an interview process to be selected. These young women are available for the girls to talk to and are there to help. Each SA is also in charge of a small group. Small groups usually contain 7-9 girls from at least three countries and meet every Sunday night. Small Groups are a great way for the girls to get to know others and to talk about how their week at school went.
If you have any questions about Saint Paul or Residential Life, please do not hesitate to email me at hdenk@splhs.org.

Heilman Hall News
A new school year has begun and Heilman Hall is again home to high school students from throughout the world. This year there are 14 students living in Heilman from 7 different countries. The students have enjoyed getting to know people with different cultures and have made many new friends. Thanks to the warm weather, many of the resident students have been taking advantage of being out doors, especially in the evenings. It has been a good start so far and I'm looking forward to the rest of the school year.
