I officially retired after teaching in the North Kansas City School District for 28 years and an accumulated total of 35 years in teaching. I have always loved learning, and earned my masters in learning disabilities and doctorate in educational leadership. For several years, both before
and after retiring, I held an adjunct professor position in the education departments at Park University and William Jewell College. Currently, I am teaching part-time at Children’s Mercy Hospital.
We have two sons, two daughters-in-law, and seven grandchildren, who are the ‘crown of our lives.’ One of our retirement goals is to travel more often...this March we took a short trip down to Arizona and ran into Mike and Chris Flandermeyer in the petrified forest. It is a small world.”
